Cornhole is simply a game where you try to throw bags into a hole. However, there is much more to Cornhole than this simple description. For that reason we will discuss the important facets of Cornhole so that after reading this blog you are completely up to date in the field of Cornhole.
Where does Cornhole come from?
First of all, we will discuss the origins of Cornhole. Cornhole originates from America, where it is also called the bean bag game or sack toss game . No one knows exactly how Cornhole came about, but it probably comes from the game Quoits and Bean-bag Bull's-Eye. In these old American games the aim was also to throw 'bags' into a hole, but it looked slightly different from today's Cornhole as we know it today. In Chicago and the surrounding area they were/are called Cornhole bags . Cornhole spread in Chicago, Illinois and the northwestern region of Indiana in the late 1970s and early 1980s. After which it quickly gained popularity throughout America. Today it is played throughout America and there is a nationwide league called The American Cornhole League . The Cornhole craze is now also spreading within Europe and that is why Wicked Wood Games has started offering Cornhole products.
Purpose of Cornhole
Obviously the goal of Cornhole is to have fun together, but it is also a very competitive game. Cornhole is a lawn game in which players take turns throwing bags onto a Cornhole board. One pocket on the board means 1 point and if you score a pocket in the hole you earn 3 points. Whoever reaches 21 points first wins.
